Dan Manolescu, Owner and Operator of E-Crime Expert

Dan Manolescu holds a Master of Law (LLM) with specialization in Law and Technology, a Master of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies with a focus on Internet regulations and cybercrime, and a Bachelor of Law degree (LLB).

Dan is performing research in areas such: E-Crime, Social Network Services, Data Protection and Privacy, new technologies and Ethics, E-commerce and Cybercrime from an international law perspective. Also, Dan is an experienced and trained Negotiator for commercial contracts, ICT contracts, new technologies legal issues and conflict resolution.

Dan has working experience with the highest level of the decision making process at the European Parliament and advanced knowledge about the European Institutions.

Starting with 2011, Dan is member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).

Dan owns and operates E-Crime Expert which it is a legal consultancy specialized in the fields of data protection, privacy, cybercrime, intellectual property, and the Internet. E-Crime Expert aims to make the Internet a safer place by providing awareness, information and tips to Internet users (children, adults and seniors) to help them protect themselves against e-criminals and scammers.

As of August 2011, Dan has partnered with the International Multilateral Partnership Against Cyber Threats (IMPACT) by providing cybersecurity threat information, reports and any technical data relevant to cybersecurity, information and awareness materials on Child Online Protection Initiatives, consultancy, speaking at and attending cybersecurity related events and developing awareness programs.
